In our recent blog post How Animals Improve our Social Emotional Learning, we discussed that interactions with animals help increase positive emotions and decrease feelings of anxiety and depression. It has also been noted by many articles that therapy animals can help students relax during finals season in school and allow them to focus better in classrooms. We have also seen the recent trend of young children reading to dogs and cats in humane societies and shelters across the country, as it helps improve the animals’ social skills and the children’s reading skills
